Behavioral Health & Mental Health Billing Services
Billing built for behavioral health practices, from the people who got you in-network.
Becker Credentialing Services provides behavioral health medical billing and mental health billing for solo providers, small group practices, and TMS clinics. We handle eligibility checks, claims, follow-up, payment posting, and reporting, so you get paid for the care you provide and can stay focused on your patients.
We understand that running a behavioral health practice comes with unique challenges. Our team takes care of the back-end work, and you always know who's handling your claims.
Who We Work With
We specialize in practices that want an experienced biller who knows their account, not a ticket number.

Small Group Practices
Growing behavioral health groups that need billing to keep up as they add providers, without hiring an in-house billing team.

We have deep experience billing for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), from benefit checks and payment plans to claims and follow-up. TMS billing services

Switching Billing Companies?
If your current billing isn't working, with slow payments, unexplained denials, or a billing company that's hard to reach, switching is easier than most practices expect. Here's how we make the move smooth:
- We start by understanding where things stand: your payers, your open claims, and what's been going wrong.
- We pick a clean start date, so it's clear which claims we're handling from day one.
- We talk through claims already in progress, so nothing falls through the cracks during the transition.
- You get one point of contact who knows your account and answers your questions.
Free Billing Review
Wondering whether outside billing help makes sense for your practice? A free billing review is simply a conversation about your practice, how you're handling billing today, and how we can help.
How Credentialing Supports Mental Health Billing
You can only bill an insurance company in-network after you're credentialed with it, and only for services on or after your effective date. Claims sent before then, or with provider details that don't match what the insurer has on file, are a common source of denials.
Because we handle both behavioral health credentialing and billing, we know exactly which payers you're approved with, your effective date for each, and what information they have on file. Your billing starts on the right date, with the right details.

Billing Questions
Do you bill Medicare and Medicaid claims?
Yes. Our billing services cover commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid claims. (Our credentialing services focus on commercial insurance companies.)
Can you work with the practice management or EHR system we already use?
We've worked with a number of different EHR and practice management systems. Reach out to us to see if we can work with yours.
How is billing priced?
Every practice's needs are different, so we price billing based on your practice. Request a free billing review and we'll talk through what makes sense for you.
Is it hard to switch billing companies?
Usually not. We start by understanding your payers and open claims, set a clear start date, and talk through claims already in progress so nothing falls through the cracks.
Can I bill insurance while my credentialing is still pending?
In most cases, you cannot bill an insurance company in-network until your credentialing with that company is complete. Once you're approved, services are billable from your effective in-network date. Some organizations offer other options while credentialing is in process, and we can talk through what makes sense for your practice.
Why does my effective date matter for billing?
Your effective date is the first date an insurance company treats you as in-network. Claims for services before that date are typically processed as out-of-network or denied, so we make sure billing lines up with each payer's effective date.
Do you bill for TMS?
Yes. TMS clinics are one of our specialties. We handle benefit checks, payment plans, claims, and follow-up for TMS services. Learn more about our TMS billing services.
Do you work with telehealth practices?
Yes. We provide billing for behavioral health practices in any state, including telehealth practices.
