Credentialing Services for Psychiatrists (MD/DO)
Psychiatrists are credentialed with commercial insurance companies as physicians, so applications typically ask for board certification, residency and training history, hospital affiliations where applicable, malpractice coverage, and a DEA registration if you prescribe controlled substances (optional otherwise). We complete each payer's application, follow up until you're approved, and confirm your effective in-network dates.
For psychiatric practices, we also bill for diagnostic evaluations, medication management, psychotherapy add-on services, and TMS. See our billing services.
Credentialing for Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs), NPs & PAs
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners, and nurse practitioners and physician assistants working in behavioral health, are credentialed as their own providers with each insurance company. Requirements vary by state and payer, including your license, certification, prescriptive authority, and any collaborative or supervising arrangements your state requires. We make sure each application reflects those details accurately.
Credentialing Services for Psychologists
Psychologists joining commercial insurance networks need an active state license, a complete and attested CAQH profile, an NPI, and malpractice coverage. We work with you to choose the insurance companies that make sense for your practice, complete the applications, and track each one through to approval.
Credentialing for Therapists, Counselors, LCSWs & LPCs
Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors, and other licensed therapists and counselors make up much of the mental health workforce, and each insurance company has its own rules for which license types it credentials. We help you pick the right commercial payers for your license and location, then handle the applications and follow-up.
Credentialing for Group Practices
Group practices need both the organization and each clinician set up correctly with every insurance company, using the group's Type 2 NPI and tax ID alongside each provider's Type 1 NPI. We handle additional provider credentialing as you hire (with up to 10 insurance companies per provider), plus re-credentialing and ongoing maintenance so your roster stays accurate.
Credentialing for Telehealth Practices
Telehealth-only and hybrid practices need to be set up correctly with each insurance company, including how their practice locations and telehealth services are listed. We credential telehealth practices with commercial insurance companies and handle the applications and follow-up, just as we do for in-person practices.
