Hi, I'm Morgan Becker, the owner and lead credentialing specialist at Becker Credentialing Services. If we've worked together, you probably know me as the person emailing you about insurance applications and effective dates. This is a long-overdue chance to introduce myself properly.
Life in Idaho
I live in Idaho, and I run Becker Credentialing Services from Eagle. Outside of work, my life revolves around my family. I'm a mom to a teenage son and a daughter who's almost a teen. They both play competitive lacrosse, so a lot of my evenings and weekends are spent on the sidelines cheering them on.
Sports have been a big part of my own life, too. I grew up playing high-level soccer and went on to play in college. Playing taught me teamwork, discipline, and how to show up for people even when it was hard, and those lessons carry straight into how I work with clients.
When I get time for myself, you won't find me at the gym. I'll be honest: these days, working out and I aren't on speaking terms. I'd much rather be outside trying something new, and Idaho makes that easy: in the winter you'll find me snowboarding, and any time of year I'm happy soaking in a hot spring. I'm also an avid cook who's always experimenting with new recipes, especially the kind that bring family and friends around the table. And when it's time to relax, I'll admit to binge-watching whatever the latest Netflix series is.
What I do, and who I do it for
I've spent more than four years in medical credentialing, and I built Becker Credentialing Services around the providers I most wanted to help: mental and behavioral health professionals. We help psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, psychologists, therapists, counselors, social workers, and the group and telehealth practices they work in get in-network with commercial insurance companies, and then get paid.
On the credentialing side, I work with you to choose the insurance companies that fit the needs of your practice, and then I handle the rest: completing and submitting applications, following up until you're approved, and confirming your effective in-network date. On the billing side, I'm lucky to work with Stephanie Huffstetler, who has been in medical billing since 1997 and works with our clients from North Carolina. You can meet both of us on our team page.

Becker Credentialing Services is Idaho-owned and operated, and I love working with providers here at home, from Boise and Meridian to every corner of the state. Why I do this work
Mental health providers do some of the most important work there is, and the insurance paperwork standing between them and their patients can be overwhelming. My job is to take that off their plate so they can focus on patient care. I'll share the full story of why I started my own credentialing and billing company in an upcoming post.
